On June 6, 2023, a group of Norwegian Christians led by evangelist Steinar Harila, the founder of the charitable foundation Harilastiftelsen Håp (formerly, Hjelp til Russland) visited Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Vyborg, Leningrad Oblast.
Harilastiftelsen Håp provides assistance to disadvantaged people in the Vyborg/St. Petersburg area in Russia. One of the projects sponsored by Harilastiftelsen Håp is Vesenneye Solntse / Vårsol, a social village for families with own and adopted children in Taytsy, Leningrad Oblast.
The old friends of the Vyborg church met with its parishioners. Senior Pastor Vladimir Dorodni thanked our Norwegian friends for the ministry they have been doing in Russia and elsewhere for more than 20 years. The church’s choir, Mikael Agricola Choir directed by Darya Shkurlyatyeva, and the church’s teenager group performed for the guests. Steinar Harila shared about the significance of a personal meeting with Christ through God’s Word and repentance and the importance of ministering to needy people in this world. Together, the local parishioners and their friends praised our Lord in singing and prayed.
Thanks be to God for the wonderful meeting!
