On January 22, 2023, St. Nicholas’ Lutheran Church of Gatchina, Leningrad Oblast, received Christians from different denominations for joint prayer and sharing as part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Around 40 people attended the event.
Greetings and homilies were extended and offered by St. Nicholas Senior Pastor Viktor Vorontsov; Fr. Aleksandr Asonov, public relations director of the Gatchina Diocese of The Russian Orthodox Church and parish priest of All Saints’ Russian Orthodox Church; Fr. Jerzy Glinki, SDB, parish priest of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Gatchina; Pastor Sergei Fomin of the Church of Evangelical Christians/Baptists in Gatchina; Pastor Yuri Davydkin of Mercy United Methodist Church; Pastor Yuri Ryazhskikh of the House of God Church, The Russian Joint Union of Evangelical Faith Christians (Pentecostals).
The program included singing songs from the ecumenical Christian community of Taizé. The meeting closed with a buffet meal and informal brotherly fellowship.
