From January 6-8, 2023, the Lutheran Church of Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El, hosted the annual winter youth retreat of the ELCIR Uralic Deanery—“The Way, the Truth and the Life.” The meeting rallied young people and servers from Birsk, Gurez-Pudga, Izhevsk, Kazan, Samara, Saransk, Yoshkar-Ola, and guests from the St. Petersburg Deanery.
