Zelenogorsk Lutherans share church space with Roman Catholics
On June 5, 2022, the Lutheran Church of Zelenogorsk, St. Petersburg urban area, opened its doors for Roman Catholics to celebrate their first mass in Zelenogorsk in many years since the local Roman Catholic church was closed after WW2. With this gesture of friendship, ELCIR Lutherans reciprocated the favor of Roman Catholics in Pskov where the local ELCIR congregation meets for worship in the local Roman Catholic church. Fr. Konstantin Stepanov, administrator of St. Hyacinth’s Roman Catholic Church in Vyborg and Deacon Sergei Vikhrov of Transfiguration of the Lord Lutheran Church in Zelenogorsk gave interviews in a video report of Mikhail Fateyev of Gaudete.ru.
