ELCIR clergymen Pastor Viktor Vorontsov of the Church of Gatchina and Pastor Roman Pavlov of the Church of Skvoritsy attended the Eve of Pentecost mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Gatchina at its invitation. The mass was celebrated by Archbishop Giovanni d’Aniello, Apostolic Nuncio to the Russian Federation. Archbishop d’Aniello was appointed to this position on June 1, 2020 and arrived in Russia on October 22, 2020. This was his first visit to Gatchina as he was visiting St. Petersburg from May 20-24, 2021. During his visit, the nuncio was accompanied by Auxiliary Bishop Nikolai Dubinin of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of the Mother of God.
