St. Nicholas’ Lutheran Congregation of Gatchina lovingly keeps alive the spiritual and cultural traditions of Ingrian Finns. On February 2, Bishop Ivan Laptev, Senior Pastor Viktor Vorontsov, and Chairman of Inkerin liitto Vladimir Kokko participated in the shooting of a TV show about the Finnish celebration called Laskiainen or Sunday before Lent, related to the traditions of Shrove Tuesday or Eastern Slavic Maslenitsa.
The recording session was followed by prayer together with the bishop saying a homily. The meeting concluded with conversations over a cup of tea and coffee.
Welcome to St. Nicholas’ Church!
