ELCIR Requests Ownership of Historical Church in Zelenogorsk
The Church of Ingria has submitted a request to the Property Relations Committee of the St. Petersburg Administration to be given ownership of the Lutheran church building in Zelenogorsk, a suburb of St. Petersburg, also known as Transfiguration of Our Lord Church. The church is located at 13A Prospekt Lenina in Zelenogorsk. Currently, the ELCIR uses the historical church on a free-use agreement and has recently renovated it out of its own funds. In its letter of request, our Church cites historical facts. The land for the construction of the church building was purchased in the early 20th century before permission for construction was granted.
