Students of interethnic journalism visited Velmema Church and learned about the history of the Christian Church and Lutheranism in particular, saw the order of worship, and heard Lutheran hymns. Rev. Aleksei Alyoshkin, the pastor of the church, took the guests up the belltower and let them hear the ringing of the wonderful church bell. The Republic of Mordovia is a home for Eastern Orthodox believers, Lutherans, Muslims, and other faiths, who live in peace, love, and harmony.
