News from the Athletic Team of The Church of Ingria.
On February 15, 2020, Okhta Park served as the venue of the 4th Russkaya Zima Winter Festival of Street Sports. Part of the festival was an interconfessional ice-hockey-in-valenki tournament. Valenki are traditional Russian winter boots made of felt.
Seven teams representing different confessions and ethnic groups contended with each other. The team of The Church of Ingria participating in the games took the third place.
We won three games and one time we drew a tie. We only lost to the winners—the team of the St. Petersburg Metropolitan See of The Russian Orthodox Church.
Our team consisted of Dmitri Glechikov, Lasse Kugappi, Jaan Tress, Dmitri Orlov, Aleksandr Masloboishchikov, and new players Aleksandr Medvedovski and Walter Parkkinen.
Thanks to everyone for your participation and support! We wish our athletes God’s richest blessings and new achievements!
