On August 14, 2025, a ceremonial presentation of certificates for the Introductory Theological Course of the Theological Institute of the Ingrian Church was held for those who had successfully completed all eight modules. The training lasted ten months. This year, sixteen individuals from St. Petersburg and various congregations of the Leningrad region fully completed the course. An additional 137 people were able to participate in parts of it.
A new course is starting this September, with plans for online attendance of lectures. This course is preparatory and provides an opportunity to enroll in a theological bachelor’s degree program. Even if a parishioner does not plan to dedicate his or her life to theology, we follow the principle of the “Lutheran Church as a learning Church” and offer everyone the opportunity to receive a basic theological education.
The course consists of eight modules:
- Personal Spiritual Life
- Introduction to the Old Testament
- Introduction to the New Testament
- Church History
- Dogmatics
- Liturgics
- Hermeneutics and Homiletics
- Missiology.
