On January 24, 2024, ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev attended the plenary meeting of the 32nd International Christmastide Education Lecture—“Orthodoxy and the Nation’s Culture: Losses and Gains of the Past, a Vision of the Future.” Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ presided over the meeting which took place at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
The forum gathered over 500 people: Russian Orthodox ecclesiastics of different levels, clergy of foreign Eastern Orthodox church bodies, clergy of other Christian denominations, members of Russia’s Interreligious Council, plenipotentiary representatives of the President of Russia in federal circuits, members of federal and regional government, heads and faculty of over 250 Russian and foreign universities, principals and teaching staff of comprehensive education schools, congregational specialists, and workers of culture.
