On January 6, 2024, Mikael Agricola Choir of the Lutheran Church in Vyborg, Leningrad Oblast, and a visiting choir from St. Petersburg—Kaja Choir of the Estonian Culture Society and the Estonian Lutheran Church of St. John, met together in the Vyborg church to sing Christmas songs from the 16th to the 19th centuries in Russian, Finnish, Estonian and Latin. The church’s catechist offered some introductory remarks. The church’s organ, a kantele, a Celtic harp and hand bells served as accompaniment instruments. The program also included J. S. Bach pieces played on the organ as well as voice solos. The concert concluded with a hymn about the Christmas wreath.
