From January to August 2023, Trilistnik Children’s Shelter in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg, run by the ELCIR aided 28 children. Shelter workers participated in child custody trials and did legal paperwork for child custody by relatives upon a court-decreed withdrawal of parental rights or upon parents’ death. The children were placed in kindergartens and schools and received necessary treatment in medical institutions. All of the children received needed physical aid such as clothes, personal hygiene articles, school stationery, etc.
Trilistnik stays in ongoing contact with social welfare offices, child’s rights commissioner, governmental and nongovernmental social assistance and humanitarian aid organizations, polyclinics, charity foundations, and individual donors. Starting in May, Trilistnik was able to hire two extra child counselors and a psychologist.
