On July 18, 2023, Senior Pastor Albert Mazurenko of the Lutheran Church in Irkutsk in SE Siberia represented the ELCIR at a working meeting of the Interconfessional Coordination Council of the Legislative Assembly of Irkutsk Oblast where council members met with Assembly deputies and chairperson Aleksandr Vedernikov. City Mayor Ruslan Bolotov was also in attendance. The meeting included a continued discussion of area improvement at Ierusalimskaya Gora, a historical & memorial complex in Irkutsk, which would include the manufacturing and installation of memorial signs of religious faiths.From July 24-27, Rev. Mazurenko traveled to Tulun, Krasny Oktyabr, and Manut, 500 km (≈310 miles) from Irkutsk, to celebrate a communion service and visit with church members.
On July 28, Pastor Albert represented the ELCIR in The Interconfessional Dialog, a program where leaders of religious faiths met with active young people in Irkutsk. The meeting was held at the Youth School for Unity housed by Irkutsk’s trade union training center building.
