From June 6-11, 2023, the Lutheran Church of Murmansk held a children & youth retreat entitled “Hearth and Home.” The retreat gathered Sunday school students, Rostok youth group members, and Rukodelki Club members (children and youth with health limitations.)The topic for discussion was the Parable of the Prodigal Son. The church servants talked about family traditions and our relationship with loves ones. Each day included learning time, a master class, outdoor and indoor games, and singing with motion.
No matter the difference in age and physical abilities, the kids made friends with each other as one family, helping and feeling comfortable with one another. It was a valuable experience in conducting an event with such different audiences, which both the participants and the leaders benefited by. Thanks be to God for this opportunity!
