On January 26, 2023, ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev and Oleg Belezhenko, director of Anna Pomogayet Nonprofit visited the Department of External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Patriarchate at Danilov Monastery in Moscow. They attended the roundtable discussion “Social Ministry of Religious Communities: Denominations Share Experiences.” The meeting was part of the 31st International Christmas Educational Readings.Presentations about their diaconal ministries came from leaders of the Russian Joint Union of Evangelical Faith Christians, the Roman Catholic Community of Sant’Egidio in Russia, the Russian and Novo-Nakhichevan Diocese of The Armenian Apostolic Church, The Assyrian Church of the East, directors of social protection centers, and other organizations.
