At the invitation of the Department of External Church Relations of The Russian Orthodox Church, Bishop Ivan Laptev of The Church of Ingria attended the plenary session of the 31st International Christmas Educational Readings. Topic: “Global Challenges of Our Time and Man’s Spiritual Choice.” The event took place in the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow on January 25, 2023. Presiding was His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The event rallied more than 5000 people: Russian Orthodox hierarchs – members of the Holy Synod, heads of metropolises, diocesan bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church, ministers of other Christian denominations, authorized representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in the federal districts, heads of federal services of the Russian Federation, heads and representatives of federal and regional authorities, rectors and representatives of ca. 250 Russian and foreign universities, heads of general education organizations and others.
At the end of the event His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia summed up the results of the meeting. The formal part of the meeting was followed by a concert.
