The Lutheran Church of Kem, Karelia, awarded its annual Christmas prize to seven departments of the Children’s School of Arts in Kem for their contribution to music education and promotion of classical music works. This year is the seventh time the school has been awarded the winner award certificates by the church. The school’s students and faculty demonstrated their talents in a recent public recital where they performed classical music works including an Ave Maria chorale and sacred music by J. S. Bach. Also, the School’s music theory studio has been holding public lectures about J. S. Bach, explaining how his oeuvre was inspired by his Christian faith.Photos by Olga Yakushova
