On November 17, 2022, sixth-graders and their history teacher from the school in Läskelä, a village in Karelia, visited a local ELCIR congregation, Resurrection of Christ Lutheran Church, as part of the history course in their school curriculum. The students learned from Rev. Oleg Menaker about the reasons for the Great Schism in Christianity, the teachings of the Reformation, and the differences between Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism. They also asked questions and expressed their own guesses. They also learned that the neo-Gothic church in Läskelä was built by architect Arkadi Ivanov and opened in 2011.
