During the fall break, the Lutheran Church of Kondopoga, Karelia, held a children’s program entitled “Animals at the Service of God.” Each day was devoted to a topic from the biblical history: Balaam’s donkey, Daniel in the lions’ den, Peter’s denial.The kids read the stories about animals, played, sang, drew and colored pictures, made crafts, prayed, and learned Bible verses.
The program was prepared by Elvira Kolyadich. “As we discussed a story, we didn’t just read the Bible passages, but we also learned many new and interesting things about the animals themselves and their behavior. For example, what is valuable and unique about a donkey? What’s a lions’ family called? Who can we call a ‘loud-voiced alarm-clock?’ There are many more animals in the Bible we didn’t get to read about in these days. Which means we have new interesting meetings and engaging stories waiting for us,” says Elvira.
The music time was led by Olga Demidets. On each day, volunteers helped conduct the program and organize meals. Praise be to God for each participant and assistant!
