The new Russian-language issue of the ELCIR churchwide Tserkov Ingrii (“The Church of Ingria”) magazine is fresh from the printer!
Issue 3/2022 marks several important dates:
September 21 — 500 years since the first publication of Luther’s translation of the New Testament (“The September Testament”)
September 29 — Feast of St. Michael and All Angels
September 30 — Day of Christian Translators
October 4 — 550th birth anniversary of Lucas Cranach the Elder, a German Renaissance painter and printmaker. Cranach provided woodcut illustrations for Luther’s German translation of the New Testament.
October 31 — 505th anniversary of the Reformation
Also, 2022 marks 200 years since the publication of the first Russian translation of the New Testament, later included, with some changes, in the Russian Synodal Bible.
The two main topics of this issue are “Children in the Church” and “Musical Ministry.”
