On September 27, 2022, organ students from the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music in Moscow visited St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg. The group was led by eminent organist, Professor Aleksandr Fiseiski.
The young people took a short tour of the church and tried their hand at playing the church’s Rieger pipe organ, an instrument of rare design. They were assisted by Sergei Varshavski, the congregation’s organist and St. Petersburg’s oldest church musician. Much appreciated was Prof. Fiseiski’s competent opinion of this organ’s strengths.
