On September 22, 2022, the seminary of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Russia hosted a roundtable discussion entitled “Everything was Full of the Bible” in connection with the 500th anniversary of the publication of Luther’s “September Testament.”Pastor Anton Tikhomirov, rector of the Theological Seminary of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Russia in St. Petersburg opened the meeting. The attendees discussed the current state of affairs in Bible scholarship.
The attendance of the discussion included Archbishop Vladimir Provorov of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Russia (ELCR); Bishop Ivan Laptev of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria in Russia (ELCIR); Pastor Michael Schwarzkopf, president of the ELCR General Synod, dean of the Northwestern Deanery of The ELC of European Russia; Anton Vinokur, chief specialist of the Department for Relations with Religious Associations in St. Petersburg Governor’s Administration.
