Below are some of the decisions made by the ELCIR Synodal Council on August 26, 2022

• Confer a blessing to Danil Andreyev to serve Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church in Petrozavodsk, Karelia as a catechist upon passing the catechist exam.
• Confer a blessing to Anatoli Gudkov to serve as a catechist and ordain him into the Office of Deacon when he reaches the age of ordination to serve Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church in Petrozavodsk, Karelia.
• Assign Vladislav Golubovas to serve Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church in Petrozavodsk, Karelia as a deacon for the term of 1 year.
• Dismiss Pastor Mikhail Starilov of Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast, from the ministry of the church’s senior pastor as requested by the congregation. Task Pastor Valeri Antipov, ELCIR Southern Region Dean, with organizing the worship life of the church in Borisoglebsk.
• Reassign Holy Communion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Borisoglebsk from the Volga Deanery to the Southern Deanery.
• Open a vacancy for the position of Senior Pastor at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Krasnoyarsk for 60 days.
• Open a vacancy for the position of Senior Pastor at St. John’s Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg for 60 days.
• Do the legal process of transferring title deeds into the name of the ELCIR for the following items of property: Christian School and Almshouse of Jakkimaa Parish in Lenina Street in Lahdenpohja, Karelia; Women’s Progymnasium and Almshouse of St. James’ Lutheran Church at 26 Nekrasova Street in Pskov; Parsonage at 53 Karla Marxa Street in Gdov, Pskov Oblast.
• Approve the following 2023 offerings calendar: June 11 – collection of offerings for maintaining the work of the Synod (the Annual Convention) (Sunday closest to Day of the First Council of Nicaea); September 3 – collection of offerings for the ELCIR diaconal ministry (13^th Sunday after Trinity, diaconal festival); October 1 – collection of offerings for the ELCIR children & youth ministry (Sunday closest to the Feast of St. Michael and All Angels); October 29 – collection of offerings for the ELCIR Theological Institute (Sunday closest to Reformation Day); November 26 – collection of offerings for the ELCIR mission ministry (Judgment Sunday).
• Terminate St. Elizabeth’s Religious Group in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg.
