This is Sasha. A barista at Special Coffeehouse established by Anna Pomogayet, a charity project run by St. Anne’s Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg (a.k.a. Annenkirche) assisting orphanage alumni find solutions during crises, make friends and find a vocation.
At 12, he lost his parents and was put in an orphanage. Fortunately, some sad stories take a good turn.
A year and a half ago, Sasha got in touch with Anna Pomogayet, took a barista training course, and got a job at Special Coffeehouse as soon as it was opened.
This year, he managed to enter the Herzen State Pedagogical University in St. Petersburg on his own. But that’s not all!
On August 27, 2022, Sasha was awarded a grant for training in restaurant business management at SWISSAM International University which provides education in the hospitality industry. Our cordial thanks to SWISSAM International University and our partners at QuickResto, a restaurant automation company, for the opportunity they gave to young people to participate in the grant contest!
We’re incredibly happy about Sasha! This is a unique chance to receive an international-level education and to skyrocket in life!
