Trilistnik, an ELCIR-run crisis shelter for women with children in St. Petersburg collaborating closely with St. Michael’s and St. Mary’s Lutheran churches and St. Petersburg’s charities, provided assistance to 20 women and 31 children in 2021. Additionally, the shelter plans to focus more closely on assisting children left without parental care. To do that, the ELCIR Synodal Council made a decision to turn over the second part of the parsonage in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg, to Trilistnik Shelter effective from September 1, 2022.
By now Trilistnik Shelter has become one of St. Petersburg’s major organizations assisting struggling women with children. On certain days in the winter of 2022, Trilistnik sheltered up to 24 women and children at a time.
