On May 8, 2022, leaders of Protestant denominations laid a wreath and flowers in a solemn ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, a war memorial at the Kremlin Wall, commemorating the Victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. At the request of the ELCIR bishop, Senior Pastor Igor Alisov and Pastor Andrei Yurtayev of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Moscow participated in the ceremony.
