On Palm Sunday, April 10, 2022, Aleksandr Kaus was ordained into the Office of Deacon. This joyful news comes from Pastor Aleksandr Burtsev, the leader of Lutheran congregations in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2018, the ELCIR Theological Institute (TICI) developed an education program for church servants in the Asian region. TICI teachers have visited in Kazakhstan more than once in person and also teach online. Deacon Kaus is part of this joint education project.
Pastor Aleksandr Burtsev, the leader of Lutheran congregations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, thanked Bishop Ivan Laptev of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria who is also rector of its Theological Institute, for training this excellent minister.
