- Update on Anna Pomogayet Project
Starting this week, the former premises of the ELCIR Headquarters in St. Petersburg are under repair and remodeling. The space will house a new community aid center for orphanage alumni. Address: Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street 6B (right behind the new Special Coffeehouse), St. Petersburg, Russia. The interior of the new center will be designed by KIDZ Architectural Design Studio.
According to plan, the new community aid center will house a large workshop containing a ceramic, candle-making, knitting, and sewing ateliers. Young people will use the workspace to learn skills, which should make it easier for them to get employment afterwards. There will also be an enlarged photo studio there. Further plans include a computer classroom, a psychologist’s office, and a social work room. The space also allows for a sitting-room/kitchen big enough for the young people to rest or do their homework.
The center will be available for any orphanage alumnus from St. Petersburg or Leningrad Oblast aged 16 to 25 to turn to for help.
