The ELCIR Mission Department has a new coworker—department secretary Yelena Kugappi! Yelena is a native of St. Petersburg. She became a member of the Lutheran Church of Koltushi, Leningrad Oblast, 10 years ago. She is a graduate of Herzen State Pedagogical University and St. Petersburg State University majoring in political science. In addition to world affairs, she is interested in auteur films, chess, and copywriting.In her congregation, she has been the editor-in-chief of a socio-political newspaper. She is writing a nonfiction book in her free time. Yelena is involved in several ministries in her congregation. The main one is choir. Since recently, she’s been preparing and implementing grant projects in the area of culture for Manna Nonprofit Organization. Yelena is married and has two daughters, 6 and 2 y. o.
