Christmas greetings of Sergei Sinyakov, head, Department for External Church Relations, The Union of Christians of Presbyterian Churches, for ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev
December 24, 2021
Dear Right Reverend Bishop,
I’m very happy to wish you a blessed celebration of the coming feast—the Nativity of Jesus Christ and the coming New Year 2022!
Christmas is a wonderful time and opportunity to calm down, stop from the everyday hustle and bustle, and stand before the Nativity manger as I am, bowing down before the true Lord of the entire universe and man’s destiny!
Christ was born as a human, so that I may be reborn as a true son of God!
Christ was born in an earthly manger among animals, straw, and grass, so that I may be born in the Kingdom of the Heavens, the Kingdom of Perfect Existence!
Christ was born as a defenseless baby, so that I may receive the defense and protection of Heaven itself!
The Nativity gave each of us the hope for being restored into our original, holy, and perfect image!
May this Nativity hope abide within you!
May your heart and home be filled with the Christmas spirit full of joy, true bliss, and the unbreakable shalom of God!
Sincerely and with love in our Lord Jesus Christ,
Sergei Sinyakov, head, Department for External Church Relations, The Union of Christians of Presbyterian Churches
