Aleksandr Smirnov, head of the ELCIR Diaconal Department, solicits support for Trilistnik (“Trefoil”) Project assisting struggling mothers and children:
Take a child under wing!
Dear Friends,
We need your support!
At our assistance center in St. Petersburg for mothers in crisis we have 11 children in residence and 4 in follow-up. Ages: 2 months to 14 years. We’re enhancing our work which requires more and more physical support. We don’t judge how the mothers have ended up at a crisis center and reached the point where they risk having their children institutionalized by child protective services. We’re trying to help the children lest they should replicate their mothers’ lives full of drug and alcohol abuse, filth, sexual immorality, cruelty, and hopelessness. We’re trying to tell them about God, teach them to pray, help them join the church family and never again end up alone in this world. They’re our future parishioners and maybe even our future pastors. We’re trying to change their mothers’ outlook and help them let the Lord into their life and keep their family.
You can take part in our work.
You can take a specific child or family under patronage. We will send you a report and receipts on all your money we have spent. As a rule, mothers who come to our center don’t have any income, for various reasons. Without our assistance, their children often just starve.
What we need in order to help them is basic foodstuffs, household supplies, medicines, and clothes. Part of the money is used to pay the center’s utilities and cover travel costs for the family to reach a public services center and other organizations.
Even 500 rubles a month is of great help!
You can donate to our organization’s bank account using the QR code in our VK.com group (for donations in Russian rubles).
Otherwise, you can contact me personally and I’ll send you the bank card number.
May the Lord bless all the people who fellowship in the needs of this ministry!
