On November 22, 2021, ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev spoke at “Freedom of Conscience and Religious Intolerance in the Modern World,” a conference held in Nevskaya Ratusha Business District, St. Petersburg. The topic of his presentation was “Religious Freedom as a Way to Preserve and Pass On Traditional Spiritual and Moral Values in Russia.”The event rallied federal and local government officials, civil society activists, religious freedom advocates, religious leaders, Russian and foreign diplomats, scholars, experts, foreign partners in religious freedom advocacy, university faculty members and students.
