On November 12-13, 2021, ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev was a guest speaker at a young people’s conference entitled “Keeping Interethnic Concord and Traditional Spiritual and Moral Values is Vital for Russia’s Future.” The goal of the conference held at Molodyozhny Center, Leningrad Oblast, was to help form the civic identity of young people in Leningrad Oblast. The presenters and the audience discussed such topics as the impact of spiritual and moral values on personal development today, the role of young people in strengthening the unity of the civic nation and interethnic concord in Russia, and the possibilities of interethnic dialog among young people exemplified by Friendship House, Leningrad Oblast.
