On October 18, 2021, Bishop Ivan Laptev of The Church of Ingria participated in the online conference “Open Dialog as a Way toward Spiritual Harmony,” which took place as part of the international event called the Day of Spiritual Harmony of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly. One of the project’s main tasks is to enhance interfaith and interdenominational dialog aimed at developing mutual respect for spiritual convictions and traditions. The Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly is an international union of nongovernmental organizations founded in Moscow in 2017.
In his presentation, Bishop Laptev spoke about various aspects of strengthening intercultural communications, interest in traditions, and respect for ethnic groups and religious confessions.
In May 2022, St. Petersburg will host the UN-sponsored World Conference on Interfaith and Intercultural Dialog on the occasion of World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialog and Development, declared by the UN General Assembly.
