On August 27, 2021, the ELCIR Synodal Council held a field session at St. John the Baptist Congregation of Gubanitsy, Leningrad Oblast. In addition to the usual agenda, the council discussed the Church’s social diaconal ministry and visited the Social Diaconal Center in Kikerino. Bishop Laptev hopes such field sessions become a good tradition so that the council members may take a closer look at the situation in local congregations.
