On August 26, 2021, Darya Shkurlyatyeva, the head of the ELCIR Information Department, presented a report at a seminar organized by the Department for Relations with Religious Associations under the St. Petersburg Governor’s Administration. Topic: “Interdenominational Interaction as a Standing Topic in ELCIR Media.”
The seminar gathered media officers from the Russian Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Pentecostal Church, the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia, St. Petersburg government, and researchers.
In her report, Darya spoke about the projects that were highlighted in the ELCIR congregational and diocesan media in 2021. She noted that collaboration in culture, sports, social causes, and local history studies can be most fruitful.
At the close of the seminar, the participants went on an excursion to the Grand Choral Synagogue of St. Petersburg and the Buddhist Datsan Gunzechoinei.
