On August 27, 2021, Russia’s Ministry of Justice officially registered the Council for Protestant Education, a nonprofit association.
The council’s board consists of the rectors of six Protestant educational institutions, including ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev, the rector of the ELCIR Theological Institute. The other board members are the heads of theological seminaries, universities, and organizations of the Baptist Church, the Union of Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Russia, the Pentecostal Church, and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (council chair).
A priority task of the Council is to develop a Passport of Protestant Theology in Russia.
