On Sunday, August 22, 2021, the Lutheran Congregation of Kalevala, Karelia, saw the first worship service in several months, celebrated without communion by catechist Daniil Urayevski, an ELCIR Theological Institute student. Thank you Pastor Vladimir Yakushov of the Congregation of Kem who helped Daniil reach the location of his internship! It turned out impossible to get on the bus from Petrozavodsk to Kalevala either in Segezha or in Kem as it is overcrowded. Although Daniil was willing to walk 20 km along the highway at night trying to hitchhike, the church of Kem came to his aid.Church of Kalevala Holds Worship Again
