On June 27, 2021, the Lutheran Church of Chalna, Karelia, celebrated two festivals – the Nativity of John the Baptist and Augsburg Confession Day! The divine service was followed by a lecture about the historical 16th-century correspondence between Lutheran theologians from Tübingen and Patriarch Jeremias II of Constantinople and the differences between Lutheranism and Eastern Orthodoxy based on our Lutheran Confessions. Most of the questions that came from the parishioners were about veneration of saints, icons, and preparation for Holy Communion.
