In the heat of summer in the Republic of Karelia, it’s pleasantly cool in the Lutheran Church of Kondopoga. Thanks be to God that this year parishioners were able to meet together in their church on June 24, the Nativity of John the Baptist. Kondopoga Lutherans followed their tradition and prepared a program for spiritual fellowship.
The theological part of the program included prayer, singing, and a Bible study. To keep up the spirits and stay alert, there was a short exercise now and then. In an inspirational arts & crafts session, the group learned to make tissue-paper pictures of lilacs.
Although there weren’t many people in attendance, the Lord blessed everybody with a special warm atmosphere. Many thanks to Elvira Kolyadich for the insightful materials and for the arts & crafts session! Many thanks to the chef for the delicious lunch and tea with rolls! May our Lord continue to bless our labor and rest in God’s field!
