On June 20, 2021, at the Lutheran Church of Koltushi, Leningrad Oblast, Bishop Laptev ordained Aleksandr Protasov into the Office of Deacon to serve St. Mary’s Lutheran Church of Irkutsk in SE Siberia.“Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless.” (1 Tim. 3:8-10, ESV)
Congratulations to Deacon Aleksandr for his ordination! We wish him God’s guidance and blessing, that our Lord may help him remain faithful to Him as he serves.
