On March 30, 2021, ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev was on a one-day visit to Moscow where he attended a session of the Advisory Council of the Heads of Protestant Churches of Russia. Its agenda included such matters as creating a council for Protestant education and participation in the project “The Museum of the History of Protestant Churches in Russia.”
The Advisory Council of the Heads of Protestant Churches of Russia has been working since 2002 and this was its 88th meeting. Its goals include coordination of joint activities to establish civil peace and concord in society, assisting and supporting charity and social ministry, developing proposals to improve the current legislation concerning the work of religious organizations and associations.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria is a full member of the Council, which enables it to participate in the discussions of relevant matters.
