This is the first time ever that The Church of Ingria does this.
On the day of opening, there will be a conference on the various aspects of restoring Lutheran churches as items of cultural heritage. Speakers: Kirill Yakovlev, head of Tektonika Architectural Atelier; Deacon Yevgeni Raskatov, senior minister of St. Anne’s Lutheran Church of St. Petersburg; Anastasia Martynova, art historian; Ksenia Gubinskaya, Cand. Sc. (Architecture).
Lutheran churches in St. Petersburg and its environs are items of spiritual and cultural heritage. The exhibition includes historical materials and a presentation of restoration projects for churches that were destroyed or considerably damaged during the time of persecution and wars in the 20th century. For the last 30 years, modern architects have done a lot of work to revive churches, so they could open their doors for believers.
The exhibition will be open till March 29, 2021. Admission free.
