Overcoming challenges posed by the pandemic, Sunday January 10, 2021 saw the first-ever online confirmation in our Church!
Yekaterina Moiseyeva who lives in Belgorod in Southern Central European Russia, where there is no ELCIR congregation yet, really wanted to go through confirmation class and join The Church of Ingria. Finding an unconventional solution, Deacon Pavel Tsvetkov of St. Elizabeth’s Lutheran Church in Kronstadt, St. Petersburg, 1422 km (883 miles) from Belgorod, catechized Yekaterina online and then on January 10 celebrated an online confirmation worship service. This is exceptional and unprecedented in the history of The Church of Ingria. God willing, Yekaterina is coming to Kronstadt this next spring to receive her first Holy Communion. Until then, she keeps in touch with the congregation online and participates in all of the live-streamed worship services and other activities of the church. We congratulate our sister in Christ Yekaterina on her joining The Church of Ingria and wish her God’s richest blessings!
