The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Anne in St. Petersburg a.k.a. Annenkirche is hosting a new exhibition entitled Creation in collaboration with the author of the frescoes Kirill Vedernikov, a member of the Russian Union of Artists.
According to Instagram account urbanfresco, the church building which was dedicated 241 years ago has since been a church, a cinema, a rock club, and has even burned in a fire. Today, it’s being reborn as a religious space with an active cultural life.
The topic of creation is as congenial to Annenkirche as it is to Kirill Vedernikov who has produced original works based on Bible stories. The frescoes will be exhibited in the greater room of the church. Ten of them have been reproduced in larger size on wooden panels in collaboration with Oleg Lukyanov, the author of urbanfresco technology.
Earlier, the author of the fresco in Annenkirche spoke against legalization of street art in St. Petersburg.
