On October 13, 2020, ELCIR Bishop Ivan Laptev and Dean of the ELCIR Moscow Deanery Valeri Antipov celebrated a communion service in the home of Maksim Zuyev in Kursk. Maksim was confirmed in August 2020. Hopefully, a Lutheran congregation will be reborn here in the future.The historical Lutheran church in Kursk was closed down in 1924. At different times, the building housed a radio club, a warehouse, and was later majorly altered. For many years, it has been housing a regional attorney’s office.
