On August 24, 2020, Bishop of The Church of Ingria Ivan Laptev attended a visiting session of the Interethnic Relationship Council under the Governor of Leningrad Oblast.
The topic of the meeting was “Relevant Issues of the State Ethnic Policy of the Russian Federation in Leningrad Oblast in 2020.” It was held at the museum and national reserve “Breaking the Siege of Leningrad” in Maryino, Leningrad Oblast. Upon arrival, the participants laid flowers at the Rubezhny kamen Memorial Complex on Nevsky Pyatachok, the site of one of the most critical and costly campaigns during the Siege of Leningrad in 1941-1943.
The meeting was attended by Governor of Leningrad Oblast Aleksandr Drozdenko; Vice-Governor for Domestic Policy Aleksei Kondrashov; Vladimir Mikhailenko, acting director, the House of Friendship, Leningrad Oblast; representatives of public and religious associations in Leningrad Oblast.
