By Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Vyborg
“On the Lord’s Transfiguration Day, August 6, we welcomed young people from different Church of Ingria congregations who were attending a confirmation training in Koltushi. Pastor Dmitri Rozet shared with them about the history of our cathedral and head of Agricola Choir Darya Shkurlyatyeva guided them on a tour of our organ, explaining why social distance can be measured not only in deer and bears, but also in organ pipes.
“We prepared little gifts for our guests to remember their visit to the Agricola Chapel, the improvised space near the organ balcony for our Gregorian vespers, practice of Agricola Choir, and meetings of Agricola Reconstruction Club. In 1530, Martin Luther received the gift of a signet ring. The picture on that ring has become the emblem of Lutheranism, the so-called Luther rose. On behalf of Agricola Reconstruction Club, we gave our guests sheets describing the symbolism of the Luther rose and wax seals with a Luther rose impress.
“In late August, we are looking forward to guests from St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg. Also, we plan to start guiding regular short tours to share about our cathedral and organ and to present a chance to enjoy organ music. Follow our updates!
