On May 14, 2020, the Bishop and leaders of the ELCIR Mission Department and Child & Youth Department traveled in the West Ingrian Deanery.
During their travel, they visited the native village of Martti Rautanen. Martti Rautanen was a Lutheran pastor and missionary, the founder of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia, the first translator of the Bible into the Oshiwambo language. He was born in a poor Ingrian family in Tikopis, Yamburgsky Uyezd of St. Petersburg Governorate. Later, he lived in Africa as a missionary for 56 years.
Also, the Bishop and the department leaders visited the Yamburg Congregation, the congregation in Bolshoye Kuzyomkino, and the congregational house in Konnovo.
